Darrell Sheets’ last known moments before his sudden passing at 67 have now come to light — and fans are struggling to process what they’re seeing. The Storage Wars star, once known for his bold presence on screen, is now being remembered through a final image that has left viewers deeply unsettled.

Darrell appeared on 163 episodes of the popular A&E series Storage Wars across 13 years. He retired from the show after season 12 but returned for season 13 in 2021, and remained as a buyer in seasons 14 and 15, as well. He was found in the early hours of Wednesday, April 22, in a Lake Havasu City property

“On April 22, 2026, at approximately 0200 hours, officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Chandler Drive in reference to a reported deceased individual. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the Lake Havasu Police Department said in a release.

“The male was pronounced deceased on scene and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”

The statement went on to share that the “incident remains under active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available”.

Darrell often appeared on the series with his former fiancée, Kimber Wuerfel, with whom he shared a home and blended family. They split in 2016, but a 2024 post on Facebook appeared to show they had rekindled their romance.

“Great times this weekend with my Girl Kimber and good friends, boating, car cruising, great weather, what a great weekend,” wrote Darrell.

A 2021 birthday post also thanked Kimber “for a beautiful birthday surprise, beyond expectations, I love you, and thanks to all of you that wished me a happy birthday”.

In 2019, Darrell suffered a heart attack. In a now-deleted Instagram post, he revealed that he had “congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lung”.

He later shared: “I’m not out of the woods yet as my heart is only at 40%, but my spirits never got down, and my faith is even stronger, once again.”

Darrell later retired to Arizona, where he was running an antique store called Havasu Show Me Your Junk.
